Our clients

Our wine trade clients have included:

  • one of the ten biggest wine producers in the world;

  • one of the Old World's biggest exporters to the UK;

  • numerous individual producers throughout the world;

  • numerous individual UK agents/distributors, including some of the major players;

  • wine producers' trade associations in a number of producer countries. We represented the Winemakers' Federation of Australia in its successful intervention in the landmark House of Lords case Lonsdale v Howard & Hallam Limited, which at last clarified the vexed question of how compensation for commercial agents should be assessed.

We frequently receive instructions or referrals from foreign lawyers who normally represent wine producers, or producers' associations, in their own jurisdictions.

In many cases where we are asked to advise on potential conflicts between producers and UK their agents/distributors, the other party remains wholly unaware of our involvement.   To reveal that we have advised a particular producer or importer could constitute a commercially sensitive disclosure.  For that reason we operate a strict policy of not naming individual producer or importer clients on this site.  However, we will gladly ask some of our clients to provide confidential testimonials if required.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have a specific query.
